Budget Cuts and Innovation
The Centre for Public Innovation, with Cornerstone Global and the Collaborative Strategies Network, have today published a provocative thought paper on the need for innovation and collaboration if public services are to respond effectively to significant budget cuts.
Entitled "A new public service paradigm: innovation through citizen-centred collaboration", the paper recognises that the main policy challenge for the UK government is not just reducing the structural deficit but about how to continue to deliver quality services, engage citizens in the choices that affect them and building for recovery and renewal.
The paper draws on the Centre for Public Innovation's expertise in public sector innovation as well as the thinking and insight of a number of leading practitioners in their fields.
It provides useful strategic advice to policy makers, as well as providing a challenging new analysis on the future of public services in the UK.
