Developing an Innovative Organisation

26 July 2010 - London

Organisations in the public and third sectors are increasingly aware of the need to innovate – delivering new services in creative and dynamic ways, looking at old problems from a different perspective or extending performance when faced with shrinking budgets.

The imperative to innovate is being accelerated by a number of key drivers, including:

Innovation is seen as one of the key ways in which personalised services can be made a reality.  This course follows on from the course Understanding Innovation in the Public Sector and is aimed at managers who want to introduce innovations, or who have been tasked with making their organisation more innovative.

You will be given the key tools to understand innovation theory, and will be led through the steps you need to take to make your organisation a place where new ideas are developed and innovation takes root. The course will also provide you with practical models that will enable innovation to take place.

You will go on develop a working knowledge of what innovation means in practice, what stops innovation within organisations, and key techniques you can deploy to make innovation a reality. You will be able to return to your organisation and rapidly turn innovation theory into practice.

Who should attend?

This course is aimed at managers in the public and third sectors who want to learn how to respond to the growing expectation to innovate. You will learn what practical steps you need to take to make innovation a reality and should be senior enough to have budgetary responsibility and be able to influence organisational systems and structures.
