Evaluation
As part of our wider research portfolio CPI also has experience and an in-depth knowledge of evaluating a range of services. Our evaluation work has included research for police, prisons, probation, children’s services, adult’s services, charities (both national and local) and partnerships.
Our evaluations are always tailored to the needs of commissioners and include in-depth consideration of services, clients, outcomes and overall performance.
We examine key issues, practices, service gaps and areas for development, taking into account the perspectives, experiences and views of all key stakeholders to extract a candid assessment of whether services meet the demands and needs of the client group.
All our evaluation work understands the critical importance of establishing service user experiences. We know that service users often have unmet needs and we ensure that our evaluation work pinpoints how services can be improved to address these.
Through experience, we have developed an in-depth understanding of the skills and approaches needed to ensure the successful engagement of all key stakeholders in any evaluation. We are experienced in community engagement, skilled in participatory methods and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Above all, we believe that the evaluation process must be conducted with integrity. This requires being open and transparent throughout, ensuring that there is clarity regarding our independence.
Recent evaluations and service reviews include:
- A review of a programme aimed at supporting the take-up of self-directed support for people with mental health problems from Black and Minority Ethnic communities
- A review of dual diagnosis services identifying gaps in provision
- An evaluation of older people’s substance misuse and alcohol services on behalf of a county council.
