The issue
Commissioners wanted to demonstrate the outcomes they are getting across current and new services – particularly in their Sure Start and parenting programmes.
CPI solution
To date CPI has delivered bespoke commission training to over 100 commissioners and providers; and we have written a performance management toolkit for providers and a commissioning guidebook for ‘commissioners’ in local setting. We have also helped the Trust commission parenting and early programmes using an outcome-based framework.
We are currently supporting commissioners to develop an e-based performance management system incorporating outcome measures and client milestone indictors – the first of its kind in England
Outcomes achieved
Wigan are now reporting an improvement in client outcomes and a more responsive providers who are able to demonstrate the real change that they know they have been delivering for the local community.
