High Impact Innovation Models
Now that we have confirmed the grant recipients for Year 2 of the Programme, we can share which of the High Impact Innovation models have formed the basis for work this year and what proved to be the most popular in terms of numbers of submissions.
In terms of bids received, in Year 2 there were 23 proposals in all to a total value of £371,000. In relation to the High Impact Models we received:
1. Frequent Flyers – 9 bids
2. Pharmacy Brief Advice – 2 bids
3. Hostel Clinical Nurse – 4 bids
4. Supported Housing Self-Help Group – 5 bids
5. Hospital Healthcare Workers – 3 bids
In terms of successful bids, we funded the following:
1. Frequent Flyers – 5 successful bids to a total value of £72,750
2. Pharmacy Brief Advice – 1 successful bid to a total value of £10,250
3. Hostel Clinical Nurse – 1 successful bid to a total value of £10,000
4. Supported Housing Self-Help Group -2 successful bids to a total value of £15,250
5. Hospital Healthcare Workers – IBA Delivery – 1 successful bid to a total value of £10,000
So, the Frequent Flyer model has turned out to be the most funded service type.
There were a number of common features shared by successful bids that we have set out below:
• Real understanding of how and why the High Impact model works
• Clear sense of how the model is relevant to the local situation/context described
• Evidence of partnership working in place – all agencies already signed up and ready to go
• Adaptation of the model to local circumstances – not just a straight lift from the original
• Clear sense of how activity is planned to be mainstreamed
